Efficiency Matrix has its affordable product the Basic Mitt, which is a ventilated downlight cover and can be completely retrofited over existing fittings utilizing a standard 50W Dichroic Lamp.

Halogen Down lights turn your roof into Swiss cheese allowing hot air during winter to rise into the roof which equates to energy loss, and in summer allowing hot air in your roof to expand downward into your living areas.

Product Description
The Basic Mitt is a downlight cover retrofit product which focuses on just getting the job done affordably.  The Downlight covers are made out of an intumescent material, and they have an R-value just like its sister product (Halogen Mitt/Downlight Mitt).

Installation of the Basic Mitt can be done from above or below the Ceiling.  Mastic must be used when installing from above.

The Basic Mitt is an affordable downlight cover to reduce draughts and improve R-value consistency of insulation, while providing a fire rating around the fitting.
