The LED Mitt is a gimble fitting retrofit product which focuses on fixing the inefficiencies of downlights. The Efficiency Matrix Downlight cover is made out of an intumescent material, and it has an R-value of 0.5. (In general, LED downlight Lamps are sensitive to overheating in high ambient temperatures) The Downlight Mitt shields the lamp from excess roof heat which can reach temperatures in excess of 70° Celsius especially in the Northern parts of Australia.

The LED Mitt is designed to change the general operation of a Downlighter fitting, to fix draughts/R-value consistency of insulation/ Energy efficiency of down lighting.
Installation of the Downlight Mitt can be done from above or below the Ceiling. Mastic must be used when installing from above.
The LED Mitt is sold with a 5W lamp which provides comparable brightness to a 20W halogen Lamp with the same color light(warm white). Affordable LED Down lighting is finally here.
