35W Halogen Lamp
The Efficiency Matrix 12V MR16 Silverback 35W 60° wide beam Halogen Lamp is a specially designed lamp which is energy efficient and is designed to work hand in hand with the Efficiency Matrix Downlight Mitt (Down light Cover). Its light output is equal to a 50W lamp but it resolves the issues of heat ventilation by pushing heat downwards into your living area. This is an energy saving downlight solution.
The Efficiency Matrix 35W MR16 and 20W MR16 halogen globe produces zero light output from the back, and also produces considerably less heat output in your roof area, which in turn means that this lamp requires less ventilation to maintain a good working temperature of below 90˚ Celsius around your insulation. Another added benefit of zero light output backwards is you aren’t wasting light up in your roof space, which usually the local tradesman may be able to use when they jump up in your roof once or twice a year but is an added expense to energy costs.
On the left (figure 1) we have used Plastic downlight covers due to their lack of a thermal R-value to show heat output from the demonstrated lamps. Both low voltage downlight globes have been covered with a plastic down light cover for 1 hour, to illustrate how much heat is emitted behind the luminaire and into your roof space.
This is a comparison of a standard 50W Halogen MR16 Lamp compared to the Efficiency Matrix 35W Halogen Lamp which produces the same lumen output.
“Provides 25%+ decrease in excess heat emission in the roof. This Lamp is a must for any quality downlight cover that stops air and temperature from your heating/cooling system bypassing insulation!”
Lux measurements were taken 1m away from light source. Readings were taken 1 meter away from light source. Raw data available
Recommended lighting levels for most commercial/industrial applications [AS 1680].
Task | Recommended Luminance |
---|---|
Fine manufacture, inspection tasks | 800 lux |
Drawing boards, proof reading, colour matching | 600 lux |
Office work, computer rooms, fine woodwork | 320-400 lux |
Schoolrooms, kitchens, shop counters | 240 lux |
Canteens, warehouses, rough machine work, waiting rooms | 160 lux |
Loading bays. Storage | 80 lux |
Corridors, walkways, indoor car parks, stairs | 40 lux |
1A lux is the measure of illumination: when 1 lumen falls on a 1 metre square surface it is called a lux. The more efficient lamps deliver the most lumens per watt (energy consumption).
