There maybe other cheaper barrier products on the market, but they may not comply to AS/NZS 5110 Barrier Standard, they also need to be assembled on site and they normally do not have a place to cable tie control gear..  Be sure to check that you are comparing our product with a Cover that complies to the barrier standard called up by AS/NZS 60598.

Here is an example of how our Loft Mitt downlight cover product performs with the use of Thermal Imaging.  Comparing the insulative qualities of our product compared to an Earthwool R3.5 Insulation Batt.  Downlights were not turned on for 24 hours to produce this image. Outside temperature was 10˚C and inside air was 23.6˚C.  Our Downlight covers make a weak point of the building envelope into a strong point, improving the effectiveness of the over all R-value of your insulation.  All this with a 10 Year Warranty.

Being a cover that includes an R-value, unlike other downlight covers, this cover is restricted to only be compatible with  LED lighting of wattage up to 20w to ensure a long lamp life.  Other downlight covers on the market are not restricted but are also not insulative.

Primarily a cover that is installed from above the ceiling, this Cover can also be installed from below the ceiling up a 95mm hole, recessed lighting fitting or in-ceiling Speaker.
